Description of Street Fighter Alpha 2 SNES ROM
Street Fighter Alpha 2 features brand new scenes, music, and endings for certain characters. It also ditches the Combo Chain system to turn into custom Combos, which require the use of part of the Super Combo. Alpha 2 retains all 13 characters from the original and adds five new characters, as well as hidden versions of the returning characters. Alpha 2 was followed by a slightly improved arcade version called SF Zero 2 Alpha and was released in Japan and Brazil. It shipped to home consoles like the SF Alpha 2 Gold and Zero 2 Dash in Japan.
Not only does Street Fighter Alpha 2 see the return of all 13 characters from the first Alpha (this time featuring Bison, Akuma, and Dan playing immediately instead of requiring cheat codes), it also brings back Zangief and Dhalsim from Street Fighter 2, and Gen from the original game. Alpha 2 plays similarly to its predecessor, the Super Combo bar is now split into three branches, allowing for chain customization. This is a milestone that takes the depth of Street Fighter gameplay to the next level. By applying Super Combo Bar to both basic attacks, there are more combo options for combos.
