The tenth game in the Crash Bandicoot series, Traveler by Tales Oxford Studio, was released on September 28, 2004, by Vivendi Universal Games. It is a platformer game. The game’s story centres around Despite being rivals, Crash and Cortex now had to band together to fight a shared foe and protect the island of Wumpa. Three years after losing to Crash, Doctor Neo Cortex makes his way back to the Wumpa Islands to get revenge on him.
He kidnaps Coco, poses as her, and tempts Crash to engage in combat with Mecha-Bandicoot. When Crash was ambushed by Cortex after beating Mecha-Bandicoot, the two fell into the Power Crystals mining tunnel. After escaping, the two would confront adversaries and engage in cooperative combat.
