Description of Mario Vs Donkey Kong GBA
Donkey Kong is a kind person, but he is always jealous of other people’s successes. Once, while watching TV, he saw an ad for Mario selling Mini toys. Soon after, a plan to steal Mini toys was devised and carried out overnight. Unfortunately, Mario discovered this friend’s bad deeds and quickly quit. However, that’s not why Donkey Kong gave up. He gets even more enraged when he kidnaps the townsfolk to ask to trade with Mario, or else they’ll be in danger. Mario must travel through 6 worlds to save innocent inhabitants and change his friend to get rid of his evil personality.
Before finding Donkey Kong and fighting him, the player must control Mario through 6 worlds, with countless risks. Each world, is divided into two halves, in which there is a key located in the last door of the second half. If you can overcome the obstacles and earn the key to this world, the next world will be unlocked for the player to continue exploring. If the players are defeated, they must start in the first half. Mario doesn’t design life bars, instead only health points. Each point will be deducted for each collision with a monster or falling into a bottomless pit. But it can also be replenished whenever a Mystery Box is collected or dropped by a group of dead monsters.
In each level of a world, the player must defeat monsters, quickly overcome obstacles to pass the game. The system will count down the time and the number of lives will be lost each time the time expires. If the stage can be completed and there is time, it will be added to the next stage. Of course, the less time, the higher the score will be and sometimes the system will reward stars. When the story is complete, these stars are used to unlock the “pro” mode, with more challenges and difficulties to live with.
Regarding the fighting mechanism, Mario can use some basic skills such as jumping, creating upside down or picking up objects to attack enemies. The more enemies you fight and defeat, the higher the score will be and this is a condition for Mario to participate in minigames to collect more lives. In addition to the story mode with 6 worlds and 12 pro levels, the game is completed by 6 “plus worlds” with higher difficulty, where the battle with the final boss is limited to 150 second.
