“Super Mario Kart” seems to have paved the way for the success of the entire Kart Racing (or Cart Racing) series. And following this success, 4 years later Nintendo released the “Mario Kart 64” version to succeed the Nintendo 64. Perhaps the biggest difference compared to the previous version is the graphics when there are no more pixels. Instead, paths and characters will be formatted in 3D.
Still exploring the character theme of the Mushroom Kingdom, the game includes eight characters that you can choose from at the beginning without going through the unlocking process or anything like that. These eight characters are Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Toad and Wario and Donkey Kong with the replacement of Koopa Troopa and Donkey Kong Jr. in the old version. To provide an element of challenge, these eight characters will be in different weight categories:
light, medium and heavyweight. Each weight class will have different strengths and weaknesses, forcing players to know how to take advantage of the good sides of the character.
The game supports two game modes:
single player mode and more specific multiplayer mode, namely Grand Prix, Trial Time, Head-to-head and Battle. Time Trial, Versus, and Battle are three game modes that only support single-player or multiplayer modes, while Grand Prix is a mode that integrates the two. At the start of the game, the player becomes one of the greatest racers in the Mushroom World, whose character depends on previous choices. When participating in the race, you will have to complete the goals that each mode sets. For example, for the Grand Pix you will need to do 3 laps per race with different hardness options; The time-centered test is often used to set records; Versus involves single battles or fights against each other; and for Battle, using items to get rid of the people you play is paramount.
There will be a variety of support items scattered around the track so don’t forget to collect them. In any mode, players must show their skills, create beautiful drifts to become the first to reach the finish line in the shortest time.
